Shiv Sena Assault on Retired Navy Officer, Rajnath Singh Speaks, Updates.

In an unfortunate incident, that took place on Friday, a 62-year-old retired Indian Navy Officer was manhandled and beaten by Shiv Sena workers for forwarding a cartoon on Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Four people have been arrested so far, including Shiv Sena’s Kamlesh Kadam for orchestrating the incident.

Reports say that an FIR has already been lodged in Samta Nagar Police Station, Mumbai against Kamlesh Kadam and his associates for the violent approach against the retired Navy officer.

Madan Sharma, the retired Navy Officer told ANI that he was attacked by 8-10 people for sharing a cartoon on Uddhav Thackeray. “I have worked for the Nation my entire life. A government like this should not exist,” said the retired Navy Officer.

Madan Sharma received eye injury, because of the attack and is currently under treatment in a hospital. Ex-CM Devendra Fadnavis expressed his concern over the incident and asked the Government to initiate fast action against the attackers.

Kamlesh Kadam and the other arrested suspects are seen here in the preceding video clip attacking Shri Madam Sharma. These perpetrators were all granted bail by the Samta Nagar Police Station today itself. People from various walks of life have condemned this incident of free speech suppression by the Shiv Sena. It has been reported that Defence Minister of the Union Government, Shri Rajnath Singh, has personally reached out to the victim. Shri Rajnath Singh tweeted about his conversation with the assaulted victim.
