Just as the election dayarrives closer, new political parties have begun to surface in Cachar andthe latest one is the Secular Congress Party. On Sunday, the Secular Congress Party began its campaign in the Cachar district. Sikender Ali Laskar has launched this new party. He is also the President of the party. According to Sikender, his party will contest in all the 126 seats of Assam.
Nalinakkhya Bhattacharjee has been made the Cachar district President of the Secular Congress Party. Sikender Ali has announced that if his party doeswell in Barak, then he will gift 3 cabinet ministers to the region. Sikender has further said that his party will form coalition with the BJP, if necessary.
The Secular Congress Party is expected to work as a vote cutter against the Congress party. At a time when the Congress-AIUDF and left parties have already declared their coalition in the state, the Secular Congress might atleast create a difference of a thousand votes. This will be beneficial in places where the victory is decided by a close margin of votes.
“The Secular Congress Party will fight against the price hike of necessary commodities and the increasing rate of unemployment,” said Nalinakkhya Bhattacharjee, the new President of the Secular Congress Party Cachar district committee.
